Electricity exports in Nov 41% down, imports increases 3.5-fold

KYIV. Dec 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Electricity exports in November reached 40,900 MWh, which is 41% less than in October.

According to DiXi Group, with reference to the Energy map portal, based on the results of the month, the largest volumes were supplied to Slovakia – 43% of the total volume (17,600 MWh).

Another 21% (8,700 MWh) was sent to Moldova.

The analytical center said that for the first time in more than one year, electricity was exported to Romania, reaching 14,700 MWh or 36% of the total volume. Prior to this, the last time electricity was exported to the country in October 2022. The resumption of supplies to/from Romania became possible thanks to Ukraine’s compliance with EU requirements for holding joint interstate access auctions.

In November 2022, electricity was not exported; the export was stopped in mid-October after the start of heavy attacks by Russian aggressor on the Ukrainian energy system.

As for imports, they were 1.5 times higher than exports, totaling 60,700 MWh. Of these, 46% (27,700 MWh) came from Slovakia, 35% (21,100 MWh) from Romania (for the first time since November 2022), 12% (7,700 MWh) from Poland, and 7% (4,200 MWh) from Moldova.

Compared to last month, imports grew 3.5 times. Compared to November 2022, when there were almost no deliveries, imports skyrocketed 470 times.
