Ukrnaftoburinnia files appeal with Supreme Court to cancel license for Sakhalinske field, asks to suspend decision

KYIV. Dec 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PrJSC Ukrnaftoburinnia filed a cassation appeal and an application to suspend the execution of the decision of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal on the annulment of a special permit for the use of subsoil of Sakhalinske gas condensate field (Kharkiv region).

According to the company’s press release, the suspension of execution of the decision will make it possible to maintain natural gas production for the country’s needs and avoid a crisis situation during the autumn-winter period.

As noted by the company, its specialists found an opportunity to provide gas supply to the village of Kitchenkivka, which received natural gas directly from the company’s production facilities.

Ukrnaftoburinnia is one of the largest private gas production companies in Ukraine. Since 2010, it has been developing Sakhalinske oil and gas condensate field with reserves of 15 billion cubic meters of gas. The company’s gross production in 2020 amounted to 725.4 million cubic meters of gas and 80,800 tonnes of oil and condensate, in 2021 – 691.3 million cubic meters and 76,600 tonnes.
