KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in November 2023 increased soybean processing to the maximum monthly volume since April 2020, which amounted to about 184,000 tonnes, which was 17% higher than the October figure and 43% higher than the result of November 2022, the information and analytical agency APK-Inform reported.
“Despite the difficulties in forming a raw material base for factories due to fierce competition with exporters, the main incentive to increase processing was the high demand for soybean meal in the foreign market,” analysts noted.
According to the report, in the three months of the 2023-2024 marketing year, 160,000 tonnes of meal were exported from Ukraine, which is 45% more than in the same period of the previous season and was the maximum for September-November over the last four seasons.
The main importers of Ukrainian soybean meal were Poland with a share of 58% and Hungary with 24%, APK-Inform stated.
