KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JV Nibulon LLC (Mykolaiv), one of the largest operators of the Ukrainian grain market, plans to continue the reform of agricultural production in 2024, will develop a demining unit, modernize the fleet of agricultural machinery for $20 million, logistics for $14 million and elevators for $12 million, said general director of the agricultural holding Andriy Vadatursky.
“Next year is the year of implementation of the developed strategies. We must achieve greater efficiency in all areas and comprehensively modernize the enterprise. This will allow our people to receive higher wages, and the enterprise to strengthen its competitiveness – both its own and that of the industry in the global market,” he wrote on Facebook on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the founding of Nibulon.
According to the general director of the agricultural holding, as part of the reform of agricultural production, the development of the technology of conservation soil cultivation, the introduction of automation and the stabilization of relations with lessors of land shares will continue.
Vadatursky noted that the agricultural holding managed to return to work more than 4,000 hectares in Mykolaiv region this year thanks to the launch of a new unit for humanitarian demining. Nibulon expects to receive four demining vehicles, supported by DEG Impulse GmbH. Sappers trained by the agricultural holding will not only clear the land bank owned by Nibulon, but also provide services to everyone.
According to him, $20 million received from the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) will be used to purchase agricultural equipment from CLAAS, Horsch, Hardi, Bednar and others.
Almost $14 million has already been allocated to modernize the logistics of the agricultural holding, through which the vehicle fleet has been updated and the development of the port infrastructure continues.
Since the war forced Nibulon to reorient its export chains due to the loss of river navigation, the grain trader increased the share of grain transportation by truck. For this purpose, 74 new Scania trucks, STAS trailers, as well as new fuel tankers and tanks were purchased.
The port infrastructure of the Bessarabska branch has been strengthened by two new Liebherr reloaders, which allow additional transhipment of up to 1,000 tonnes of grain per hour and will be used in other logistics models of the company.
Thanks to the USAID project for the economic support of Ukraine, Nibulon has replenished its railway fleet with 50 hopper cars built at Karpaty plant.
