KYIV. Jan 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In 2023, the Export Credit Agency (ECA) insured credit agreements of exporters for UAH 1 billion and contracts of foreign economic activity of Ukrainian enterprises for UAH 64 million, supporting a total of UAH 7.84 billion worth exports of goods and services, ECA said on its website.
ECA’s insurance liability reached UAH 934.35 million, and UAH 1 of insurance liability was converted into UAH 8.39 future export earnings. Thanks to cooperation with ECA, Ukrainian business saved and created 3,077 jobs in 2023.
As of January 1, 2024, ECA cooperates with 10 Ukrainian banks that provide financing to exporters under the agency’s insurance coverage on an individual basis or under a portfolio insurance program.
Among them, last year the largest export volumes were supported by Raiffeisen Bank (UAH 3 billion), Ukrgasbank (UAH 1.75 billion) and Oschadbank (UAH 1.12 billion).
The top three in terms of the amount of issued export loans looks somewhat different: the first position is held by Ukrgasbank (UAH 363.5 million), the second by Raiffeisen Bank (UAH 301.9 million), and the third by Oschadbank (UAH 167.5 million).
In 2023, exporters from Khmelnytsky region (UAH 2.43 billion of future export revenue), the city of Kyiv (UAH 1.35 billion) and Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 829 million) most actively took advantage of the opportunities provided by cooperation with ECA and banks.
During this period, Ukrainian manufacturers insured by ECA sold the most products to clients from Poland, Germany and Türkiye. At the same time, the bulk of exported goods were products of the processing industry, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, as well as wholesale trade.
