ECU state energy trader carries out test supply of 1 MW of electricity from Slovakia

KYIV. Oct 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) JSC Energy Company of Ukraine (ECU) carried out the first test supply of electricity from Slovakia with a capacity of 1 MWh.

"As a result of rocket attacks and damage to energy infrastructure, the risks of a stable passage of the heating period have increased significantly. As a state trader, we are looking for opportunities and tools to reduce these risks. Test deliveries are part of the work," commented Vitaliy Butenko, General Director of ECU.

At the same time, he pointed out that the technical possibility of importing electricity from Europe to Ukraine is another tool for stabilizing the operation of the Ukrainian energy system.

"We must be ready for its implementation," he stressed.

The company noted that ECU received the right to import as a result of an open auction for access to interstate power grids, held by the operator of the national transmission system Ukrenergo.

As reported, after the cancellation of electricity exports to Europe, the Ukrainian traders D. Trading LLC, ERU LLC and the state trader JSC ECU began testing the possibilities of importing electricity, starting with Slovakia.
