KYIV. Oct 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky hopes China would send a message to Russia – "this war must be stopped."
"It will have an impact," he said in an interview with Italian publication Corriere della Sera, published on Thursday.
"I hope China does not support Russia. They don’t support now. I know there are some issues – regarding sanctions, banking, financial and many other situations that they worked on together. But it is not total. And that’s very good," the head of state said.
According to Zelensky, "they [China] do not support it [Russia] now with weapons. This is also very important, because China and its society, I believe, have begun to understand what happened. I hope that they have begun to understand that Russia and its nuclear blackmail, the occupation of a nuclear power plant are not just words, but a real fact."
"If China does not balance on the brink and gives the world and Russia a message – we need to stop this war, it will have an impact," Zelensky said.
