Ukraine receives from Germany 40 tonnes of equipment, materials for restoration of energy infrastructure – Dpty Energy Minister

KYIV. Oct 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – During the full-scale war, Ukraine received around 40 tonnes of equipment and materials from German business to repair the energy infrastructure damaged by Russian missile strikes, Deputy Energy Minister of Ukraine for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov said during the 12th meeting of the Ukrainian-German top-level group on economic cooperation.

"Thanks to the reformatting of the Ukrainian-German energy partnership, we have already received around 40 tonnes of equipment and materials for the restoration of the energy infrastructure. We are grateful to German companies for their help from the first days of the war. Thanks to you and other partners, energy companies in Sumy, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv were able to carry out urgent repair work to resume electricity supply to consumers," Demchenkov said, according to a press release of the Energy Ministry on Thursday.

The official emphasized that the updated format of the Ukrainian-German energy partnership has already proven its effectiveness and has the potential to strengthen cooperation in restoring the energy sector of Ukraine.

In turn, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Franziska Brantner, expressed her readiness to continue supporting Ukraine and make every effort to launch the Green Fund [an initiative of the German government since 2021 to help Ukraine in the energy transition, which will be implemented by the KfW Development Bank] as soon as possible with the possibility of partial use of its funds for the urgent restoration of energy infrastructure.
