Over 9 mln tonnes of Ukrainian food exported under Istanbul grain deal

NEW YORK (UN). Oct 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Nine vessels with food left Ukrainian ports on Thursday, having received permission from the Joint Coordination Center (JCC).

The Joint Coordination Center said that as of October 27, the total tonnage of grain and other agricultural products exported from three Ukrainian ports is 9.016 million tonnes. In total, 794 vessels have been allowed to move at the moment – 395 vessels to arrive at Ukrainian ports and 399 to leave them.

It is noted that on Thursday, nine dry cargo ships with more than 117,000 tonnes of grain and other agricultural products left the ports of Ukraine.

Four dry cargo ships – Princess Manissa (21,000 tonnes of corn), A Line (10,903 tonnes of wheat), Sevil (5,000 tonnes of soybeans) and Nesa (2,300 tonnes of peas) sailed to Turkey. The ship Inoi (31,000 tonnes of various grain crops) is heading for Spain, the ship Adil Ibrahimli (6,630 tonnes of sunflower oil) – for Italy.

In addition, the Stella GS ship will deliver 30,698 tonnes of corn to Tunisia, and the Oris Jul ship will deliver 5,750 tonnes of sunflower oil to Israel. Dry cargo ship Ahmet Agaoglu is carrying 4,060 tonnes of wheat to Greece.

The center said grain that has arrived at its destination can be processed and then transported to other countries.

On July 22, in Istanbul, with the participation of the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, a document was signed on the creation of a corridor for the export of grain from three Ukrainian ports: Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdenny.
