KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Mobile communications Users of Kyivstar in Kyiv complain about communication problems, while the operator notes that the network is working normally.
"No, not confirmed. Now mobile service is being provided. The operation of mobile communications and the Internet depends on a stable power supply in the power grids. Base stations for mobile communications are equipped with autonomous batteries and in cases of short-term emergencies can work for several hours, depending on the load on the network," the press service of the operator told Interfax-Ukraine.
Kyivstar also said that the operation of important structural components of the network, such as switches and nodal base stations, is additionally provided with the help of stationary diesel generators, and in case of large-scale blackouts, the company’s specialists deliver mobile diesel generators to base stations and technical sites.
The usual mode of operation of telecom networks is restored immediately after the stabilization of power supply.
Kyivstar also advised subscribers experiencing communication difficulties to switch to national roaming.
