KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The agricultural holding KSG Agro has started corn export deliveries to Slovakia, the first shipment will amount to 1,000 tonnes, the agrarian group said in a press release on Monday.
"In the context of the actual blocking of the export of agricultural products by sea, the successful business of agricultural holdings focused on building their own efficient logistics. We succeeded, and we continue to develop exports to the EU countries. Following the supply of both grain and high value-added products – sunflower oil, we are starting to export corn," the holding quotes its board chairman Serhiy Kasyanov.
He noted that since there are virtually no taxes and import duties on agricultural products from Ukraine in the EU, the holding has every reason to increase exports to the EU countries.
KSG Agro recalled that it had previously started exporting rapeseed and sunflower oil to Poland, Slovakia and Italy, including with the help of flexitanks – polymer containers designed for transportation of liquid cargo on conventional trucks.
The vertically integrated holding KSG Agro is engaged in pig breeding, as well as the production, storage, processing and sale of grains and oilseeds. Its land bank is about 21,000 hectares.
According to the agricultural holding, it is in the top five pork producers in Ukraine.
