Zaporizhia NPP resumes heat supply to Energodar after transfer of two units to state of hot shutdown

KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – By the forces of the Ukrainian personnel of the Zaporizhia NPP, heat supply in Enerhodar was resumed on Wednesday, the press service of the National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom has reported.

"Hot water has also appeared in residential buildings. This became possible after the transfer of two units of the station to the state of hot shutdown. Now the employees of the Zaporizhia NPP continue to carry out work on the launch of systems to restore heat supply in the city of Energodar," the company said.

The NNGC noted that currently the water temperature is 51 °C. This is not enough to provide the Energy supply with heat and hot water in full, but even such a temperature allows you to protect the city’s utility networks from damage in the event of cold weather.

Energoatom recalled that since May, the heat and water supply of Energodar residents has been provided by the Zaporizhia NPP, and not the Zaporizhia TPP, which had to be stopped due to the terrorist actions of the Russian occupiers.

As reported, all units of the Zaporizhia NPP have been in a state of cold shutdown since September 11 as a result of constant shelling of the NPP by the Russian military and the destruction of the energy infrastructure.
