KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers has redistributed UAH 107.5 million to pay one-time financial assistance to those who returned from captivity, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says.
"Yesterday, another exchange of prisoners of war took place. Ukraine returned 107 of our defenders, including fighters from Azovstal. Unfortunately, many more Ukrainians remain in the enemy’s hands. We work daily to release them. Social welfare for those who have already returned and relatives of those who still in captivity is our priority," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.
In this connection, according to the prime minister, the government redistributed spending and accumulates UAH 107.5 million to pay one-time financial assistance to those who returned from captivity.
In particular, the volume of funding under the program measures to protect and ensure the rights and freedoms of persons who are (have been) deprived of their personal freedom by illegal armed groups, the occupation administration and/or authorities of the Russian Federation for political reasons, as well as in connection with the public, political or professional activities of these persons, support for these persons and their family members, measures for the reintegration of the population of the temporarily occupied territories, and the payment of Levko Lukianenko state scholarships has been increased by this amount.
