KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In January-September 2022, insurance companies, which are members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU), concluded 5.228 million contracts of compulsory civil liability insurance of owners of land vehicles (OSAGO), which is 22.9% less than in the same period in 2021.
According to the data published on the MTIBU website, 3.184 million of the total volume of contracts was concluded in electronic form. This is 3.86% less than in the same period last year.
In the first nine months of 2022, Bureau members reduced the collection of insurance payments under OSAGO policies by 5.8% compared to the same period in 2021, to UAH 4.962 billion, including for electronic policies by UAH 3.346 billion (17% more).
The total amount of accrued insurance claims under domestic insurance contracts in January-September decreased 22.77% to UAH 2.015 billion, including UAH 414.562 million paid using EU accident report form (14.54% less).
The Bureau also recorded a reduction in the number of settled claims for insurance compensation by 34.2%, to 82,795, including using EU accident report form to 32,583 (28.23% less).
MTIBU is the only association of insurers that provides compulsory insurance of civil liability of land vehicle owners for damage caused to third parties. Bureau members are 42 insurance companies.
