KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Central Mining and Processing Plant (Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region), part of Metinvest Group, in January-June of this year reduced production of iron ore concentrate by 19% compared to the same period last year, to 2.048 million tonnes.
According to the company’s information, Pivnichny Mining and Processing Plant (Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region) over the first half of this year reduced output of concentrate by 52%, to 3.246 million tonnes.
Inhulets Mining and Processing Plant (Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region) for the reporting period reduced output of concentrate by 47%, to 3.510 million tonnes.
As reported, from July 1, 2022, Metinvest Group suspended production at two plants – Inhulets and Pivdenny due to logistical factors, rising production costs and falling product prices. Since mid-July, production at Pivnichny Mining has also been suspended.
Currently, two mining and processing plants do not work on the extraction of ore – Inhulets and Pivdenny (they only ship ore from warehouses). Central and Pivnichny plants continue to work.
Central, Pivnichny and Inhulets mining and processing plants are among the five largest producers of iron ore in Ukraine.
