MOL: oil flows on southern branch of Druzhba oil pipeline suspended

KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Oil deliveries via the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia have been suspended, the Hungarian MOL reported.

The company refers to the explanations of the operator of the Ukrainian oil pipeline system that " a Russian rocket hit" a transformer station near the border with Belarus in Ukraine, which provides electricity to the pumping station of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

"The strike suspended oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are closely following the events and are working with our Ukrainian partners on the conditions for restarting the pipeline," a company representative said.

He also said that MOL is ready to ensure uninterrupted energy supply to the country and the region: the company’s operational reserves and Hungary’s strategic reserves are enough to keep the Danube refinery operating until the damage is repaired.
