Deputy Head of President's Office Shurma expects clarity on single mechanism for official funding of Ukraine recovery within one month

KYIV. Nov 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Over the next weeks or months, Ukraine’s official international partners will come to a consensus on a single mechanism for financing the restoration of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostyslav Shurma expects.

"I expect that in the coming weeks, perhaps one month, there will be some consensus among our partners on a single window, a single mechanism, how public finance will be transferred to finance the recovery program," he said at the Kyiv International Economic Forum on Thursday.

According to the Deputy Head of the Office of the President’s Office, there is currently a certain chaos in this matter.

"There is a certain chaos and a certain competition: both the EU and individual financial institutions – the IMF, the World Bank and other partner countries – want to be leaders in the process. And there is a certain tug-of-war, which leads to a certain chaos. On the other hand, no one wants to make no clear commitments regarding the reconstruction program until the war is over," Shurma said, describing the current situation.

According to him, following the results of several negotiations, Ukraine and partners are close to "understanding and structuring this whole story among our international partners, on a single account, in a single window," the Deputy Head of the President’s Office said.
