MTIBU increases cost of Green Card policies by 6.9% from Nov 17

KYIV. Nov 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) has increased tariffs for Green Card policies for those traveling abroad by 6.9% from November 17, 2022, according to the bureau’s website.

According to the MTIBU, the last change in tariffs was on October 3, 2022 downward by 5.5%, and before that (July 26) – upward by 26.3%.

Green Card policies have been implemented since 2009 in two types: all of Europe, Moldova. Also, from January 1, 2016, Ukrainian Green Card policies began to operate on the territory of Azerbaijan.

According to the MTIBU, the cost of Green Card in Ukraine for 15 days for trips around Europe for cars rises to UAH 923 (previously – UAH 863), for buses – up to UAH 3,469 (UAH 3,244), for trucks – up to UAH 2,178 (UAH 2,037).

The cost of Green Card for one month for cars is now UAH 1,470 (against UAH 1,375 earlier), buses – UAH 4,818 (UAH 4,506), trucks – UAH 2,891 (UAH 2,703).

Semi-annual and annual Green Card policies for cars will now cost UAH 6,525 and UAH 8,079, respectively, for buses – UAH 16,866 and UAH 31,323, for trucks – UAH 13,685 and UAH 25,829.

The cost of policies for trips to Azerbaijan and Moldova for cars for 15 days will be UAH 672 (previously UAH 629), for one month – UAH 989 (UAH 925), for six months – UAH 2,268 (UAH 2,121), for a year – UAH 3,230 (UAH 3,102).

Green Card is a system of insurance protection for victims of a traffic accident, regardless of their country of residence and the country of registration of the vehicle. The Green Card covers the territory of 44 countries of Europe, Asia and Africa.
