Ukraine exports almost 16 mln tonnes of grain since start of 2022/2023 MY – Agrarian Ministry

KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From the beginning of the 2022/2023 marketing year (MY, July-June) and until November 18, Ukraine exported 15.95 million tonnes of grain crops, of which 8.44 million tonnes of corn (52.9% of total supplies), some 6.14 million tonnes of wheat (38.5%) and 1.31 million tonnes of barley (8.2%).

According to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food on Friday, the rate of grain exports since the beginning of the current MY is 31.2% lower year-over-year (from July 1, 2020 to November 18, 2021, some 23.2 million tonnes were delivered abroad), although as early as November 14 the backlog was 30.6%, the minimum over the past few months.

The ministry said that from the beginning of 2022/2023 MY and until November 18, 2022, Ukraine exported 6.14 million tonnes of wheat (54.6% less year-over-year), some 1.31 million tonnes of barley (73% less), some 11,200 tonnes of rye (85.3% less) and 47,600 tonnes of flour (1.4% less). At the same time, the pace of corn exports exceeded last year’s volumes: some 8.44 million tonnes were exported, which is 1.95 times higher year-over-year.

It is specified that in general, since the beginning of November, 2.75 million tonnes of grain crops have been exported from Ukraine, including 1.14 million tonnes of wheat, some 1.39 million tonnes of corn, 199,000 tonnes of barley, some 5,000 tonnes of rye and some 9,200 tonnes of flour.

As follows from the data of the ministry, for the last reporting period on November 14 to 18, an average of 212,500 tonnes of grain per day was supplied to foreign markets, while for the previous period of November 7 to 14 some 118,600 tonnes per day, for November 2-7 some 178,000 tonnes per day, for October 26 to November 2 some 170,000 tonnes per day, and for October 21-26 some 132,000 tonnes per day. Thus, the average daily export rates for the reporting period November 14-18 increased by 1.8 times compared with the previous period November 7-14.
