Interpipe restructures production processes due to electricity restrictions – Communications Director

KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe is forced to restructure production processes at its enterprises due to restrictions on the supply of electricity because of shelling, Interpipe Communications Director Liudmyla Novak said at an international economic forum in Kyiv.

According to her, this year the company learned to be more flexible, make decisions faster and adapt to changes.

At the same time, Novak stated that from the very beginning of the war, the company faced three main challenges.

"Logistics: in the conditions of the blockade of Ukrainian seaports, we have built new supply chains and are now delivering products to our customers in the United States and the Middle East through European ports. Markets: the company continues to export products, but there are also losses: oil giants have put cooperation with us ‘on pause,’ do not give us ‘long’ project orders due to the war and the risks associated with it," the Communications Director said.

In addition, there are problems with the electricity supply: "Now our enterprises are limited in electricity consumption, which forces Interpipe to restructure production processes, produce more products on night shifts and work at minimum speed during the day."

"Nine months of the war have shown that Ukrainian business is able to reliably hold the economic front. To produce and export products, despite the blockade of ports and electricity restrictions, and at the same time provide assistance to the military and civilians. Ukrainians are tough, and victory will be ours," Liudmyla Novak said.

Interpipe is a Ukrainian industrial company, a manufacturer of seamless pipes and railway wheels. The company’s products are supplied to more than 80 countries through a network of sales offices located in the key markets of the CIS, the Middle East, North America and Europe. In 2021, Interpipe sold 602,000 tonnes of pipe products and 174,000 tonnes of railway products. Railway products are sold under the KLW brand.
