Ukraine exports almost 300,000 tonnes of grain in three days – Agrarian Ministry

KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From the beginning of the 2022/2023 marketing year (MY, July-June) and until November 21, Ukraine had exported 16.24 million tonnes of grain crops, including 8.55 million tonnes of corn (52.6% of total supplies), 6.28 million tonnes of wheat (38.6%) and 1.34 million tonnes of barley (8.2%), while for three days on November 18-21, some 280,000 tonnes of grain were supplied to foreign markets.

According to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the rate of grain exports since the beginning of the current MY is 31.6% lower than in the same period of the last MY (from July 1, 2020 to November 21, 2021, some 23.77 million tonnes were delivered abroad), although on November 14 the backlog was minimal over the past few months – 30.6%.

It is specified that in general, since the beginning of November, 3.03 million tonnes of grain crops have been exported from Ukraine, including 1.28 million tonnes of wheat, 1.50 million tonnes of corn, 231,000 tonnes of barley, 5,000 tonnes of rye, and 10,200 tonnes of flour.

According to the ministry, for the last reporting period on November 18-21, an average of 93,300 tonnes of grain per day was supplied to foreign markets, while for the previous period on November 14-18 – 212,500 tonnes of grain per day, for November 7-14 – 118,600 tonnes/day, for November 2-7 – 178,000 tonnes/day, and for October 26-November 2 – 170,000 tonnes/day. Thus, the average daily export rates for the reporting period of November 18-21 decreased by 2.27 times compared to the previous period of November 14-18.
