Map of destruction of Ukraine's agricultural sector expanded with 46 objects since early Nov

KYIV. Nov 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – An interactive map of the destruction of the agricultural sector of Ukraine today contains data on 279 destroyed objects of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, which are 46 objects more than at the time of its presentation early November 2022.

The relevant data was published on the website of the map.agrirecovery.com.ua project, launched by the Ukrainian Agrarian Council (UAC) public organization with the support of the USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development (AGRO) to demonstrate the real damage caused to Ukrainian agriculture by Russian aggression.

According to the interactive map, to date, it has included information on 279 agro-industrial complex objects damaged due to Russian aggression, of which 153 units are lands littered with ammunition, mines or damaged military equipment, 66 administrative and utility buildings, 19 units of agricultural machinery and agricultural equipment, 11 vehicles, 10 warehouses, eight livestock complexes and seven granaries.

At the same time, most of the land plots damaged by the war out of those marked on the map are located in Kherson region (135), while in Kharkiv, administrative and utility buildings (35), agricultural machinery (16), transport (7) suffered more than in other regions; in Donetsk region granaries (7), and in Sumy livestock complexes (2) suffered most of all.

At the same time, 64 objects of the agricultural sector were marked as completely destroyed, 56 received medium damage, and 159 received minor damage.

According to the map, as of November 22, it included data on 68 agricultural enterprises affected by the Russian invasion in Kharkiv region, as well as 30 in Donetsk, 15 in Kherson, six in Chernihiv, three each in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The latest data on the destroyed hangar of Sosnove JV LCC of the Severodonetsk city community (Luhansk region), the administrative building of Bakhmutsky Rozsadnyk LLC of the Bakhmut city community (Donetsk region) and the administrative building of Kolos LLC of the Blyzniuky rural community (Kharkiv region) were entered into the project.

"The recorded facts of military destruction and the collected documents can later be used to compensate for the corresponding damage both through appealing with international instances (a special tribunal, the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the European Court of Human Rights, investment arbitration, etc.), and through the application of internal programs and procedures in Ukraine (in particular, going to court)," the project’s website said.

It is also reminded that it is important for farmers to fix the damage from Russian aggression now, collect the necessary evidence and be ready to go through the procedure for determining compensation in the future, when the relevant procedures will be developed by all relevant authorities.
