Helsi sets up supervisory board headed by Kyivstar president

KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The shareholders of the healthcare provider Helsi, whose controlling stake was recently bought by the Kyivstar mobile operator, have set up a supervisory board headed by Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarov.

"The new governing body will perform advisory activities to achieve long-term goals and open up new horizons. Also, the goal of the supervisory board is to promote the scaling and attraction of investments in the field of digitalization of healthcare," the Kyivstar press service said on Thursday.

The supervisory board also included Helsi founders Samvel Hakobyan and Yaroslav Ivanenko, Kyivstar Business Development Director Zoya Dronshkevych, as well as ex-CEO of Microsoft Ukraine, executive chairman of the board of directors of Darnitsa Group, partner in AeronDron startup Dmytro Shymkiv.

In the near future, the Helsi supervisory board will focus on the company’s strategic priorities, namely the growth of market share and revenues in B2B, the customer base and frequency of use of the B2C service, the creation of Big data products, investments in cybersecurity and data protection.

As reported, Kyivstar announced the purchase of a controlling stake in Helsi in August 2022.

Helsi is a medical information system and a leading digital healthcare provider in Ukraine. The company has been on the market for six years, has more than 23 million patients, and is known as a provider of SaaS medical information system solutions for 1,300 public and private clinics.

Kyivstar is the largest Ukrainian telecommunications operator. It provides communications and data transmission services based on a wide range of mobile and fixed technologies, including 3G. As of the middle of this year, its services were used by about 24.8 million mobile subscribers and over 1 million fixed Internet customers.

Kyivstar’s shareholder is the international group VEON (formerly VimpelCom Ltd.). The group’s shares are listed on the NASDAQ (New York) stock exchange.
