DTEK Oil & Gas acquires right to develop two gas fields in Poltava region at auction for UAH 1.3 bln

KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Companies that are part of DTEK Oil & Gas acquired at an open auction on Tuesday the right to develop two gas fields in Poltava region – Mayorivska field for UAH 1.102 billion and Birkivsko-Zinkivska field for UAH 211 million.

"DTEK Oil & Gas will pay the state budget record UAH 1.1 billion during the war for the development of a gas field in Poltava region," DTEK’s official Telegram channel reported on Tuesday.

According to the energy holding, the Mayorivska field, in particular, should be included in the general model for the development of gas fields in Poltava region.

At the same time, both sites require a detailed geological study to confirm their prospects and subsequent commercial development.

Investments are expected at the level of several billion hryvnias, DTEK noted.

"We believe in the victory of our state and continue to invest in Ukraine, despite the war, despite the colossal destruction of infrastructure. Our task is to provide Ukraine with its own gas and become a gas exporter to Europe," Maksym Timchenko, CEO of DTEK, said.
