KSG Agro increases revenue from pig sales by one third in ten months

KYIV. Dec 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The agricultural holding KSG Agro in January-October 2022 increased its revenue from the sale of pigs by 34% compared to ten months of 2021, to UAH 391 million, according to a press release from the agricultural holding on Thursday.

"The growth in revenue from the sale of pig products – both live pigs and half carcasses, was facilitated by an increase in sales of piglets due to the rejuvenation of the pig population, as well as the high quality of pigs of Canadian Genesus Genetics," KSG Agro quotes its head of the board of directors, Serhiy Kasyanov.

The holding recalled that in early November, it partially updated the pig population by purchasing 60 sows and ten boars of Canadian Genesus Genetics, and before that, in June 2021, it purchased 184 breeding pigs of this breed.

Earlier, KSG Agro reported that its number of sows in September 30, 2022 increased by 9.5% compared to December 31, 2021, to 6,090 animals. At the same time, the total number of animals (pigs and piglets) increased by 28.5%, to 56,190 animals.

The vertically integrated holding KSG Agro is engaged in pig breeding, as well as production, storage, processing and sale of grains and oilseeds. Its land bank is about 21,000 hectares.

According to the agricultural holding, it is in the top five pork producers in Ukraine.
