Kuleba calls on OSCE to support creation of Special Tribunal on Russia's crimes in Ukraine

KYIV. Dec 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has participated in a meeting of the OSCE Foreign Ministers in Poland and called on the partners to support the creation of a Special Tribunal to address Russia’s crime of aggression in Ukraine.

The head of the Ukrainian diplomacy outlined the steps to fight Russian aggression and stressed that the OSCE should show uncompromised for the principles on which the organization is based, the Foreign Ministry’s press service said.

"You all have seen the horrors of this war and the question now is what makes possible the presence of the Russian nameplate at the table. There is no place for it here," Kuleba said.

The minister called on the partners to support the creation of the Special Tribunal to address Russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine.

A future trial would be important for the acknowledgement of the breach of international law and an expression of formal apology by the Russian state for committed crimes as one of the key guarantees of non-repetition of aggression, he said.

Kuleba also called on the OSCE Member States to recognize the Holodomor Famine of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people, adding that Russia, encouraged by its longstanding impunity, tries once again to exterminate the Ukrainian nation and play a hunger game with the whole world.

The minister also invited the partners to join in the Peace Formula proposed by the Ukrainian president.

"As Russia’s war has far-reaching consequences and negative impact on the world security far beyond Ukraine and the European continent, the Peace Formula has the potential to become a global format," he said.
