National Health Service begins contracting medical institutions for 2023 with planned medical guarantee budget of UAH 142 bln

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) has started accepting proposals from medical institutions for signing contracts under the Medical Guarantee Program for 2023, the planned budget of which is more than UAH 142 billion, including UAH 4.7 million for reimbursement the cost of medicines.

The National Health Service said in its press release that in 2023 the NHSU introduces a new package "Comprehensive Rehabilitation Assistance for Adults and Children in Inpatient Conditions."

"The new package of medical services will allow everyone who needs to restore impaired or lost physical skills to receive comprehensive rehabilitation. Both veterans and civilians affected by hostilities," the national service said.

In addition, the Medical Guarantee Program for 2023 provides for a new package "Accompaniment and Treatment of Adults and Children with Mental Disorders at the Primary Level of Medical Care."

In the contracting process for 2023, the National Health Service has introduced a new procedure for concluding contracts, which, in particular, provides that specialized medical institutions will not submit additional documents if they plan to conclude contracts in the same areas as in 2022.

According to the NHSU, during the first day of contracting, the National Service received 600 offers from medical institutions, including 58 from medical service providers from regions bordering war zones.

In addition, NHSU said that 1,251 primary health care facilities, including 345 doctors sole proprietors and 137 private facilities, as well as 23 medical facilities providing emergency medical care, have already submitted applications for concluding an agreement for 2023 – NHSU concludes contracts with one such center in every region.

Since the beginning of 2022, the NHSU has paid UAH 126 billion to medical institutions under contracts under the Medical Guarantee Program.
