By KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Market Operator has joined the Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMO) Committee in the status of an observer for the work of the united spot electricity market of the EU.
"Observer status in NEMO allows Market Operator JSC to start technical preparations for the unification of the spot markets of Ukraine and Europe, which in test mode can begin as early as the second quarter of next year," the company said on its website.
Joining the NEMO Committee will also allow the Market Operator to study in more detail the operation of the integrated European SDAC (single day-ahead coupling) and SIDC EUROPE (Single Intraday Coupling).
As explained in the company, all nominated electricity market operators (NEMO), as well as all transmission system operators (TSO) of European countries, agreed to allow the Ukrainian operator join the NEMO Committee.
