NBU temporarily suspends licenses of Alfa Insurance, Motor Garant, Alfa Leasing Ukraine, Parity Finance

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On December 5, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) temporary suspended licenses for provision of financial services of PJSC IC Alfa Insurance (Kyiv) and double liability company Motor-Garant, Alfa Leasing Ukraine LLC and Paritet Finance LLC, according to the website of the regulator.

"These remedies were applied due to the non-compliance of companies with the requirements of the Regulations on Licensing and Registration of Financial Services Providers and the conditions for their activities to provide financial services, namely, the requirements for the business reputation of financial service providers," the NBU said.

According to the press release, the companies have a deadline for eliminating violations until December 5, 2023.

In addition, by decision of the regulator, a license to carry out activities to provide financial services of Promagroleasing-Ukraine LLC was revoked.

As reported, Alfa Insurance was founded in 2000. It offers a versatile portfolio of services, including comprehensive business protection programs and a wide range of insurance products for individuals.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in September 2021 agreed with Petr Aven the indirect ownership of 11.8096% of the shares of PJSC Alfa Insurance, Alexei Kuzmichev – 15.544%, German Khan – 19.9047%, Mikhail Fridman – 31.2939%. After the start of the war by Russia, they were included in the sanctions lists.

Motor-Garant has been operating in the insurance market since 2000 and is part of the banking group together with JSC Motor-Bank. The ultimate beneficial owner of the company is Viacheslav Bohuslaev, who owns 83.6% of the shares of the insurance company.
