NBU net sales last week rise to $580.8 mln

KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Net sales of U.S. dollars by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) increased for the third week in a row, but this time it was minimal – to $580.8 million from $562.7 million a week earlier

According to the information of the National Bank on its website, from November 5 to December 9, it purchased $2.6 million, which is less than the usual volume of purchases during the war, while it sold $583.4 million compared to $569.3 million a week earlier.

In the cash market, the hryvnia strengthened again by the end of the week, by about UAH 0.15 to UAH 39.93/$1, while the spread between the bid and ask rates remained narrow.

As reported, the volume of interventions of the National Bank in November decreased to $1.57 billion from $2.03 billion in October, $2.75 billion in September, while international reserves grew by 10.7% to $27.42 billion.

In general, from the beginning of the year to December 9, inclusive, the NBU purchased $3.243 billion and EUR 111.0 million on the market, and sold $23.988 billion and EUR 1.789 billion.

Since the beginning of the war, the purchase of foreign currency has reached $2.586 billion and EUR 111.0 million, and the sale – $21.218 billion and EUR 1.789 billion.
