No vessels left Ukrainian ports on Dec 12 under Istanbul grain deal due to adverse weather

NEW YORK, UN. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – No vessels were able to depart the Ukrainian ports on Monday due to electricity shortages and adverse weather, the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) said.

"The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) reports that due to unfavorable weather conditions and electricity shortages no vessels left Ukrainian ports today [December 12]," the center said.

Meanwhile, the Ulusoy 8 vessel transited the maritime humanitarian corridor on December 12 on its way to Pivdenny port, it said.

"As of December 12, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 13,679,363 metric tonnes. A total of 1,084 voyages (541 inbound and 543 outbound) have been enabled so far," the JCC said.

The number of vessels’ departures from the Ukrainian ports declined to 19 a week in December, whereas some 55 bulkers left the Ukrainian ports every week in September, it said.
