By KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a phone conversation thanked President of the European Council Charles Michel for the invitation to speak at the European Commission meeting on December 15.
"We discussed the role of the EU and member states in the implementation of the Peace Formula. We are grateful for increasing the European Peace Facility by EUR 2 billion and unlocking a new financial program in the amount of EUR 18 billion. I stressed the need for quick approval of the 9th package of sanctions. I informed about the progress in implementing the recommendations of the European Commission. We coordinated further steps regarding Ukraine’s movement towards EU membership," the head of state said on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.
