NEW YORK (UN). Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Seven ships loaded with over 170,000 tonnes of food departed from Ukrainian ports on Tuesday, the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) said.
"The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) reports that seven vessels left Ukrainian ports today [December 13] carrying a total of 170,634 metric tonnes of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the JCC said.
MV Sakarya (29,000 tonnes of wheat) and MV Lady Laguna (18,100 tonnes of wheat) are destined for Turkey. MV DS Manatee (21,000 tonnes of corn and 5,250 tonnes of soybeans) and MV Rider (9,050 tonnes of soybeans) are headed to Italy.
MV Lady Ayse and MV Mavka loaded with 10,500 tonnes of sunflower meal and 6,250 tonnes of sunflower oil, respectively, are going to Spain. MV Mavka will transport 6,250 tonnes of sunflower oil to Romania, and MV Chola Virtue is on its way to China with 65,234 tonnes of corn onboard.
"Grains that reach a destination may go through processing and be trans-shipped to other countries," the JCC said.
"As of 13 December, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 13,849,997 metric tonnes. A total of 1,096 voyages (546 inbound and 550 outbound) have been enabled so far," it said.
