By KYIV. Dec 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine should involve its international partners in the implementation of the Peace Formula presented by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Korniyenko has said.
"One of the main tasks of Ukraine is to involve the world in the concrete implementation of the points of the Peace Formula. We must return the Flag of Ukraine to all cities and communities, bring the terrorist state to real responsibility for this war, ensure the safety of all generations of Ukrainians after the end of this war," he said in the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu) on Thursday.
Korniyenko recalled that Zelensky’s peace plan, presented to the leaders of the G20 countries, includes ten points for ending the war in Ukraine.
"The peace formula consists of ten points – from nuclear security to the restoration of the territorial integrity of our state, from energy security to the return of all prisoners of war and deportees who are in the territory of Russia," he said, adding that the Ukrainian victory will bring a real peace.
"This goal is quite achievable, and we have proved this with successful counter-offensives in Kharkiv and Kherson this fall. The victory of Ukraine will also be the victory of Europe and the West," Korniyenko said.
According to him, "Russia continues to bomb Ukrainian cities, killing Ukrainian civilians with the sole purpose of destroying Ukraine and eliminating Ukrainians as a nation."
Korniyenko stressed that Russia must be held accountable for the policy of genocide. He expressed gratitude to Estonia for its support in the establishment of the International Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
"Russia still has missiles and an advantage in artillery, but we have something that the occupier does not and will not have. We protect our home – this gives us the strongest motivation. We are fighting for the freedom of Ukraine and all of Europe. This unites the whole world around Ukraine, " Korniyenko said.
As reported, a delegation of the Verkhovna Rada led by Korniyenko is on a working visit to Estonia on December 15-17.
