Azerbaijan boosts revenue from exports of gas 3.3-fold in Jan-Nov, of oil 1.5-fold

BAKU. Dec 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Azerbaijan’s declared exports of gas rose 2.1% year-on-year in January-November 2022 to 18.648 billion cubic meters, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee told Interfax.

Gas supplies accounted for 40.75% of Azerbaijan’s overall exports in January-November 2022 compared to 22.62% in January-November 2021.

The value of the gas exported rose 3.3-fold to $14.808 billion.

The State Customs Committee does not publish a breakdown of the individual countries that receive Azerbaijani gas.

Azerbaijan’s declared exports of oil fell 4.8% year-on-year in January-November 2022 to 24.318 million tonnes with a value of $18.319 billion, up 49.1%.

Oil accounted for 50.42% of Azerbaijan’s overall exports in January-November 2022 compared to 62.05% in January-November 2021.

A total of 29 countries bought Azerbaijani oil in January-November. According to the customs committee, Italy was the main consumer of Azerbaijani gas as usual, accounting for 35.5% of all Azerbaijani oil exports in January-November 2022.

Italy was followed by India and Israel. The top ten buyers included Croatia, Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Indonesia, and Germany.

Malaysia joined the list in November, while China, Canada, and a number of other countries that actively bought Azerbaijani oil in 2021 were absent from the list.

Insignificant volumes were supplied to Russia, Georgia, and Bulgaria in January-November 2022.

Azerbaijan’s declared exports of oil products fell 46.7% year-on-year in January-November 2022 to 654,680 tonnes for $432.155 million, down 27%.

Oil product exports accounted for 1.19% of Azerbaijan’s overall exports in the period.
