Ukraine cuts copper imports by 64%, exports by 57% in Jan-Nov

KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In January-November of this year, Ukrainian enterprises reduced imports of copper and copper products in value terms by 63.7% compared to the same period last year, to $59.263 million.

According to customs statistics released by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, exports of copper and copper products over the specified period dropped by 56.6% to $83.289 million.

In November, copper and copper products were imported for $4.839 million, exported for $6.339 million.

In addition, Ukraine in January-November 2022 reduced imports of nickel and products from it by 45.1% compared to January-November 2021, to $59.086 million (in November it was $3.290 million), aluminum and products from it by 31.3%, to $310.940 million ($31.664 million). At the same time, it cut the import of lead and products from it by 65%, to $2.827 million ($177,000).

Imports of tin and products from it fell by 25.7%, to $3.140 million ($246,000), and imports of zinc and zinc products also dropped by 60.4%, to $34.304 million ($3.813 million).

Export of aluminum and products from it in January-November 2022 decreased 41.3% compared to January-November 2021, to $90.723 million (in November it was $7.173 million), lead and products from it fell by 70.2%, to $10.574 million ($0.804 million), nickel and products by 72.5%, to $1.168 million ($0.082 million).

The export of zinc for the reporting period reached $1.321 million (there were no deliveries in November), while in January-November 2021 it was $408,000. The export of tin and products in January-November 2022 amounted to $423,000 (in November $2,000) versus $220,000 for the same period a year earlier.
