Energy Ministry provides Chernihiv region with 44 transformers received from Lithuania

KYIV. Dec 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Energy Ministry of Ukraine has provided JSC Chernihivoblenergo with 44 transformers received from Lithuania as humanitarian aid.

"Today, Chernihivoblenergo received 44 transformers provided by Lithuania as humanitarian aid. Additional 25 transformers will be sent to the region soon within the framework of Lithuania’s assistance," the ministry said on its website on Wednesday, December 21.

During the ceremony of handing over the equipment, Lithuanian Ambassador to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas assured that his country will continue to help the Ukrainian people.

Energy Minister of Ukraine Herman Haluschenko, in turn, said that currently Ukraine badly needs high-voltage transformers.

"At the same time, the Energy Ministry is actively working with international partners to find necessary equipment, placing priority orders to manufacturers and does its best to ship equipment to Ukraine as soon as possible," the ministry said.
