McDonald's opens new restaurant in Obolon district in Kyiv

KYIV. Dec 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Thursday, McDonald’s opened a new restaurant in Kyiv in the Obolon district (12-C, Volodymyr Ivasiuk Street, near Obolonska Embankment), the company’s press service reported.

According to the press service, this restaurant near the Natalka Park was almost completely ready for opening even before the start of the Russian full-scale invasion, after the decision was made to resume the operation of the network in Ukraine, it was included in the list of restaurants for opening.

The restaurant in the Obolon district is the second flagship restaurant in Ukraine with a special concept for families with children. There are children’s slides inside and outside the establishment, sliding tables that can be increased for large companies, unique graphics on the walls in the style of children’s drawings.

In the restaurant hall there are 254 seats for guests on two floors and another 98 on the terrace. There are also 12 screens of self-service terminals in the hall.

The restaurant is open from 7:00 to 21:00 according to updated security protocols: it closes during air raid alerts and resumes work an hour after they are clear.

As reported, on September 20, McDonald’s began a phased opening of restaurants in Kyiv. As of December 22, 63 restaurants are operating in Ukraine.

The restaurants of the chain in Ukraine were closed on February 24, 2022 due to security reasons. The company supported a team of more than 10,000 people while continuing to pay salaries. In addition, more than 700 tonnes of products worth over UAH 70 million were donated for humanitarian needs.

The network is being developed by FDI McDonald’s Ukraine Ltd.

According to the unified public register of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, MCD Europe Limited (100%, London, the UK) is a FDI participant.
