By Kyiv. December 26th. Interfax-Ukraine – Kryvy Rih enterprises of the Metinvest mining and smelting group are ending 2022 not only in terms of production indicators, but also by providing assistance to the army as part of the Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative.
According to a press release from the company, mining and processing plants and Kryvy Rih Mechanical Repair Plant are working on the creation of another batch of stoves of various modifications for Ukrainian defenders.
From the first day of the full-scale war, all the enterprises of the Metinvest group in Kryvy Rih took a clear and transparent position – to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the territorial defense in the fight against Russian aggression. A few weeks later, the enterprises provided tonnes of sand and rock fines, concrete blocks, timber for fortifications, vehicles, consumables for dugouts, and even overalls and shoes. Subsequently, support became more systematic, and communication with the defenders helped to identify needs and prioritize work to be a reliable rear of the Ukrainian army.
One of the areas of work was manufacturing stoves of various modifications: for heating, drying clothes, cooking or combined. The plans of enterprises for the period from March to December 2022 included the production of more than 500 stoves. However, by the beginning of winter, there were more orders, so by the end of the year, Kryvy Rih enterprises plan to ship more than 800 stoves to the Ukrainian troops.
Stoves, depending on the size, are capable of heating a room from 25 to 40 square meters in a short time. Some have a special function for drying shoes and clothes or several burners for cooking. There are also lightweight stoves that can heat up to five hours, regardless of the type of fuel.
As part of the Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative, Metinvest enterprises produce mobile shelters. The company has already transferred 69 steel structures to different sectors of the front. Recently, two such modular dugouts, manufactured at the Kryvy Rih enterprises of Metinvest, were delivered to the Avdiyivka direction, which is one of the hottest spots on the map of Ukraine.
Metinvest is a vertically integrated group of mining and metallurgical enterprises. The group’s enterprises are located mainly in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
