Auchan Ukraine will donate 3,000 care boxes to Kyiv

KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Auchan Ukraine will donate 3,000 care boxes for Kyiv as part of a partnership project with Biosphere Corporation and the German language school StartDeutsch Schule, the retailer’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

Care boxes are packages or boxes with a minimum set of products that a person stuck in an elevator may need for a long time. Each box contains water, cookies, dry wipes, wet towels, a trash bag, a cup and sedatives.

As part of the partnership project, first of all, such boxes will be placed in houses that are most often subject to stabilization and emergency blackouts.

Part of the boxes has already been handed over to the city of Kyiv and placed in the elevators of the capital, another 3,000 boxes are being prepared for shipment. This batch of boxes will be placed in the elevators of Obolonsky, Solomiansky, Podilsky and Dniprovsky districts. In general, the partnership program at this stage provides for the placement of boxes in 5,000 elevators. There are over 20,000 elevators in the capital’s housing stock.

According to the press service of the retailer, Auchan Ukraine together with partners plan to expand the project to other large cities of Ukraine.

Auchan Retail is an international retail company, the first store opened in France in 1961.

Auchan Ukraine Hypermarket LLC has been operating in Ukraine since 2008. According to the Auchan website, before the Russian invasion, the retailer’s network had more than 30 stores of various formats (hypermarkets, supermarkets, pick up points) in nine cities, and is also developing e-commerce.
