State Emergency Service announces competition for supply of 59,000 tonnes of grain as part of Grain from Ukraine initiative – ministry

KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has announced its readiness to start negotiations on the purchase of two batches of wheat of at least third grade quality, which will be delivered to African and Asian countries as part of the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian food initiative.

According to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on Tuesday, we are talking about a tender for the supply in January 2023 on FOB terms (delivery of goods before loading on board) of batches of wheat with a volume of 32,000 tonnes and 27,000 tonnes from the Ukrainian Black Sea deep-sea ports.

Information about the readiness and ability to take part in negotiations on the purchase and supply of wheat grain (one or both batches) must be provided on a letterhead signed by an authorized person to the following email addresses: oper@dsns.gov.ua; smyrnov@dsns.gov.ua and zadyraka@dsns.gov.ua.

As reported, in November 2022, the government adopted resolution No. 1313 approving the allocation of UAH 900 million to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for the State Emergency Service, which is part of it, for the purchase in Ukraine and subsequent delivery of up to 64,000 tonnes of corn or wheat to the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of Yemen, the Republic of Kenya and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In addition, Ukraine undertook to send from its stocks at least 125,000 tonnes of wheat and corn (quality not lower than third grade).

As of the end of November 2002, more than 30 countries and international organizations have joined Grain from Ukraine, raising more than $180 million in total.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, UK, Greece, Estonia, the EU, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Qatar, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Slovenia, the USA, Turkey, Hungary, Finland, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan, as well as NATO and the UN announced the provision of financial assistance.
