Ukrainian business obtains right to export poultry to Canada, fish products to Turkey – Consumer Service

KYIV. Dec 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian producers in December 2022 obtained the right to export poultry to Canada, and fish products to Turkey, according to the website of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

According to it, new markets for business are opened thanks to the joint work of the department, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and foreign embassies.

Relevant work to open the Canadian market for Ukrainian poultry and meat products began in 2019, when representatives of the Canadian certification body CFIA inspected the state control system for production at Ukrainian enterprises. The list of Ukrainian companies that now have the right to export poultry and products from it to Canada has been added to the CFIA database, and the requirements for the import of meat products from Ukraine to Canada have been published on the official web portal of the organization.

According to the service, in December Ukraine also received the right to export fish products to Turkey for export. The form of the corresponding certificate has already been posted on the official web portal of the State Food and Consumer Service.

As reported, during the period of martial law in Ukraine, the number of enterprises producing animal products that have the right to export their products to the territory of the European Union has increased. Their number increased by 33 (or 8.5%) compared to the winter of 2021 – up to 418 from 385. The number of Ukrainian exporters of dairy products increased the most – by 11, fish products – by six, snails and products from them – by five.
