Israeli FM: Significant humanitarian aid to Ukraine to continue

KYIV. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – New Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said there would be some changes in Israel’s approach to the war in Ukraine and stressed that significant humanitarian assistance to Ukraine would continue.

During his opening speech to Foreign Ministry officials, Cohen declined to comment on Ukraine’s request for defensive weapons from Israel, according to the Times of Israel.

At the same time, he noted that "significant humanitarian assistance" to Ukraine would continue. According to the Foreign Minister, "on the Russia-Ukraine issue, we will do one thing for sure – talk less."

He also indicated that there would be some changes in Israel’s approach to the war in Ukraine.

After the welcoming ceremony at the Foreign Ministry, he is scheduled to talk with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Cohen also said that on January 3 he should speak with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
