Market of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine drops by 56.5% in 2022 – Ukrautoprom

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian fleet of new trucks and special vehicles in 2021 was replenished with 6,900 new vehicles, which is 56.5% less than in 2021, the Ukrautoprom association has reported in its Telegram channel.

The Renault brand became the sales leader of the year, as well as a year ago, with a drop in sales by 59%, to 1,221 vehicles. The second place was taken by Mercedes-Benz, whose registrations decreased only 11%, to 667 vehicles. In 2021, the brand was not among the top five.

Citroen, losing one position compared to 2021 and reducing registrations by 71% to 628 vehicles, ranked third. Fiat moved to the fourth position (compared to the third year earlier), sales of which also decreased 71%, to 501 vehicles.

MAN rounds out the top five of the year, registrations of which decreased only 5%, to 467 vehicles. In 2021, this line of the rating was occupied by Belarusian MAZs.

Ukrautoprom said that in December 2022, registrations of new commercial vehicles more than halved compared to December 2021, to 922,000 vehicles, which, however, is almost twice as much as in November last year.

Renault also became the leader of the month with 286 vehicles and an increase of 57% compared to December 2021, Mercedes-Benz came in second with 110 vehicles (10% more), and the third position was taken by the Volvo brand with a 5.5-fold increase in sales, to 82 vehicles.

Also FIAT with 62 vehicles (74% less) Iveco with 54 vehicles (7% less) are in the top five of the December rating of brands.

As reported, according to Ukrautoprom, in 2021 the market for new trucks and special vehicles grew by 37% compared to the previous year, to 15,900 vehicles, including in December an increase of 15%, to 1,873 vehicles.
