Datagroup-Volia invests UAH 70 mln in energy independence

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Datagroup-Volia is purchasing generators and uninterruptible power supply devices to increase the energy independence of its own network for a total of about UAH 70 million.

"Currently, 95% of all accidents on the Datagroup-Volia network are associated with emergency power outages. Therefore, the main task for us now is to build the most autonomous network that will not depend on power outages. For this purpose, the company has allocated an unprecedented budget of UAH 70 million," the company said.

With these funds, about 300 generators with a capacity of 5 kW to 1 MW have already been purchased, and another 200 will arrive in Ukraine next month. Also, more than 2,000 autonomous uninterruptible power supply devices were purchased for these funds.

The company also reported that about UAH 10 million is spent every month on fuel and maintenance of generators.

"Now, on average, generators consume more than 100,000 liters of fuel per month, or almost 3,000 liters per day, and on peak days after shelling, up to 10,000 liters per day," the company said.

The company is also actively working with local communities, business and shopping centers on the joint organization of the uninterrupted operation of telecoms equipment.
