ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih reduces production by 67% for 11 months

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) at its coke chemical division in January-November of this year reduced production of metallurgical coke by 66.7% compared to the same period last year – to 880,000 tonnes.

A representative of the company told Interfax-Ukraine that in November the enterprise produced 44,000 tonnes of metallurgical coke.

At the same time, in January-November-2022, the production of 6% moisture gross coke at the plant amounted to more than 1 million tonnes, including 51,000 tonnes in November.

Coke production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased by 10% over 11 months of 2021, to 2.640 million tonnes, including 188,000 tonnes in November last year.

For 11 months of 2022, 1.3 million tonnes of coal concentrate were supplied to the enterprise, including 396,000 tonnes of domestic coal, 390,000 tonnes from Russia (before the war), 65,000 tonnes from Kazakhstan, 34,000 tonnes from Poland, 15,000 tonnes from the Czech Republic, 208,000 tonnes from the USA and 187,000 tonnes from Australia. In November, 50,000 tonnes of coal were delivered to the plant, including 42,000 tonnes of domestically produced coal and 7,000 tonnes from Poland.
