By KYIV. Jan 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BES) have seized the corporate rights and assets of a logistics holding suspected of tax evasion for UAH 18.3 million, the beneficial owners of which through a Cypriot company are citizens of the Russian Federation.
According to the press service of the department, during the pre-trial investigation, the corporate rights of the enterprise, nine vehicles and 13 real estate objects (buildings, land plots, etc.) for a total amount of about UAH 700 million were seized.
According to the information in the court register, the matter concerns Euroterminal LLC (Odesa), the largest beneficiary of which, in accordance with the state register, is British citizen Pavel Lisitsin, and directors Alexander Eismont and Alexei Mazharin are among the minority co-owners.
According to the bureau, citizens of the Russian Federation, in collusion with the company officials, have been overstating the tax credit with VAT since 2021 during financial and economic transactions with a number of companies. Such actions led to the actual non-receipt of more than UAH 18.3 million to the state budget of Ukraine.
During searches of the company’s administrative buildings, BES employees identified and seized documents that testify to the offense, as well as confirming the citizenship of the Russian Federation of the founders of the company.
It is clarified that the pre-trial investigation within criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 28 (an offense committed by an organized group) and Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion) are carried out by detectives of the BES main detective unit under the procedural management of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Revenue of Euroterminal for the nine months of 2021 amounted to UAH 213.76 million, net profit – UAH 126.97 million.
Euroterminal LLC, as indicated on its website, was established in 2005 with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Currently, it is a transport holding, which includes UNSK stevedoring company and Eurocargo brokerage and forwarding company.
