Japan hands over generators for two boiler houses in Nizhyn

KYIV. Jan 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On January 6, the town of Nizhyn in Chernihiv region received two generators with a capacity of 550 kVA and 270 kVA, which Japan provided to Ukraine through the JICA agency.

"The generators will provide reliable power to the town’s two boiler houses serving more than 50% of the housing stock, medical and social facilities," the Department of Energy announced on its website January 6.

As noted in the department, the next batch of generators from Japan is expected next week.

"We are grateful to Japan for their help in these difficult times for Ukraine. Russian attacks have caused significant damage to the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Now it is very important to ensure a reliable energy supply to consumers, which will greatly help backup power sources," Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko said on the website.
