KYIV. Jan 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Insurance companies – members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) in January-November 2022 concluded 6.508 million contracts of compulsory civil liability insurance of land vehicle owners (OSAGO), which is 21.1% less than in the same period in 2021.
According to the data published on the MTIBU website, 4.012 million of the total contracts were concluded in electronic form – by 2.68% less than in the same period last year.
In addition, over 11 months of 2022, members of the Bureau reduced the collection of insurance premiums under OSAGO policies by 3.34% compared to the same period in 2021, to UAH 6.294 billion, including under electronic contracts by UAH 4.296 billion (up by 18.9%).
The total amount of accrued insurance claims under internal insurance contracts for January-November decreased by 24%, to UAH 2.488 billion. In particular, UAH 518.4 million was paid using the European accident record form (less by 14.51%).
The Bureau also recorded a decrease in the number of settled claims for insurance compensation by 35.6%, to 100,500, including using the European accident record form, to 39,576 (less by 29.78%).
MTIBU is the only association of insurers that provides compulsory insurance of civil liability of land vehicle owners for damage caused to third parties. Bureau members are 42 insurance companies.
