Oschadbank increases volume of term deposits by 7.4% since start of full-scale war

KYIV. Jan 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State-owned Oschadbank (Kyiv) had increased the volume of time deposits from the beginning of the full-scale war as of the end of 2022 by 7.4% or by UAH 5.2 billion, to UAH 70.6 billion in all currencies, bank Board Chairman Serhiy Naumov said in a statement on Wednesday.

"As of the end of 2022, we have had a growth of UAH 5.2 billion in term deposits from the beginning of the big war, to UAH 70.6 billion (in all currencies). This trend continues now: already this year, UAH 500 million (in equivalent) have been added to this portfolio," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

He said that on hryvnia deposits as of February 24 last year, the increase was to UAH 5.7 billion.

Naumov expects that the deposit base of Ukrainian banks will continue to expand, as well as the deposit rates.

Oschadbank was founded in 1991. Its sole owner is the state.

According to the statistics of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), as of November 1, 2022, Oschadbank ranked second in terms of total assets (UAH 270.806 billion) among 67 banks operating in the country.
